Lap White Cedral Cladding

As part of the full project package, we began by arranging the scaffold to be erected as well as a skip to be delivered to the site. Our first task was to remove the hanging tiles and begin making a plan with the setting out of the new cladding, with current windows being set close to the existing render we made a plan to over clad the window sills to extend them past the new cladding line which would be brought out.

Whilst removing the existing materials it became apparent that the mock tudor projections were very badly out of level and very wavy along the length, this would cause major problems if not rectified as our cladding lines would highlight the waviness in the walls drastically, as well as this if we failed to level up the corners then our corner trims would be out of level which would also be highlighted once the boards were fitted.

We planned to counter-batten the affected projections before fitting another set of battens over the top, which would be levelled and flattened using string lines to create a perfectly flat and level substructure for our cladding boards.
