Project Brief

Following the wall panelling we had previously completed for this returning customer, they came back to us with a much larger project in mind. This included installing Cedral wall cladding to the exterior of the property, as well as asking us to provide quotes for a complete kitchen and bathroom refurbishment.

For the exterior, we were tasked with installing Cedral Tea Green lap cladding. We provided several samples to help the client choose a finish that would work with the existing colour scheme of the property.

The Tea Green cladding perfectly complemented the colour of the newly painted render, while also tying in nicely with the internal wall panelling we had previously installed.

Once the colour was chosen, we created a detailed plan for the works, including schedules and detailing for the cladding around the rear Juliette balcony and bi-fold doors.

Project Execution

Project Run-Through:

We began the installation of the cladding by installing breather membrane and battens over the existing structure, which would form the cavity airflow required, as well as providing a fixing for the cladding boards and trims.

We then began installing aluminium trims to corners, and opening, once these were fitted it was time to begin boarding. To the rear of the property we were aiming to provide a flush concealed look to the juliette balcony balustrade, we achieved this by fitting the balustrade directly to the timber framed building and then fitting the batten around the glass, this would conceal the ugly, bulky fixings and bolts fixing the glass to the building.

Once we had installed the battens carefully in this manner, it created space for the aluminium asymmetrical trims. Once the trims were carefully set up, this was the hard part out of the way, and we were now ready to begin installing the boards.

The finished project looked incredible, with a very aesthetic shape to the property, the cladding perfectly contrasted the pastille clay coloured render on the opposing side of the property.

Our attention to detail and patience with the planning to create the flush concealed balcony effect paid off well as this small detail played a major role in the bespoke finish. Our clients were amazed at the finished project and we even gained compliments from the public who had been walking past during the works.
