Handleless Shaker Understair Storage

Project Brief
A repeat client returned to us looking for a further project install, with a new baby on the way our clients were desperate to create some bespoke storage to help keep the entrance and hallway to their home tidy.
With a small family already it was difficult to find a home for shoes, slippers and coats which had ended up over the hallway floor or hung on the staircase. We booked a design consultation where we discussed styles and colour schemes and the exact items they were planning on storing in the unit so that we could design everything to their exact requirements.
Our clients had chosen a contrasting colour scheme using a vintage oak internal and a spray finished external in Farrow & Ball Whimborne White.

Project Execution
Project Run-Through:
With our design consultation complete, we took back our notes and site dimensions to the workshop, using sketch up we made and provided scaled CAD drawings which we used to create a cut-list for manufacturing in the workshop.
To ensure an efficient and accurate on site install we completed all cabinetry including the angled shaker doors and approved a dry fit prior to removing the doors and externals to go to the spray booth.
Once the spray finish was completed and the PU paint had fully cured we visited site for the install, we delivered the cabinetry fully made and installed straight away, once the cabinetry was levelled, installed and finished with external plinths we fitted the spray finished shaker doors and checked all of the runners were working smoothly.
We then wiped the cabinetry down before handing over to our client.

Bringing the Vision to Life
Our client was shocked at the quality of the install, having had a clear vision of the space but being unable to fully visualise it we were glad to hear that it was even better than expected.
The off white spray finish worked well with the bright wood woodwork on the staircase and the storage was fully maximised, we even went to the effort of installing some smaller shelving into the angled sections to provide storage for the children’s smaller shoes.
Client Testimonial
“I’m absolutely buzzing with it to be honest. It’s spot on. Chuffed to bits mate!!! And I also really appreciate you fixing that kitchen unit whilst you was here. Thanks again man!”
