Project Brief

My client reached out to me to help fulfil her dream of a full kitchen renovation, which she had been waiting to do for almost 20 years. The existing kitchen was very dark and worn and formed a long, thin galley-style kitchen.

The client had specific requirements for her new kitchen, including underfloor heating, a new window for natural light, and tiled flooring, and she was in love with the Helmsley Kitchen from DIY Kitchens but was unable to design or plan it herself as they are a supply-only company.

She was looking for a company that could design, supply, and project manage the entire project, and I was more than happy to help.

Project Execution

Project Run-Through:

The project began with a detailed design consultation, followed by a carefully scoped brief. Working alongside my kitchen designer, we produced CAD drawings to help the clients visualise the layout.

A second consultation allowed us to present these and refine the design based on the clients’ feedback and our own improved ideas. The revised drawings were signed off and a detailed quote approved.

Once the deposit was received, I booked materials and trades, creating a clear Schedule of Works outlining daily activity and contact details, which built trust and helped the clients plan around the project. We began with strip-out and first fix plumbing and electrics, including underfloor heating. After replastering, we tiled the floor in mid-green and white Victorian-style tiles before installing the in-frame shaker cabinetry. Quartz worktops were templated and installed the following week.

The project concluded with second fix appliance connections and final decoration, delivering a truly bespoke result.

Project Completion

Bringing the Vision to Life

Final sign-off and handover were completed after a visual inspection with the clients, and they were delighted with the finished project.

It was flattering to hear that I had far exceeded their expectations with the high standard of finish as well as capturing their exact vision and bringing everything to life without compromise.

The project ran to schedule and within budget, which was a testament to the attention to detail laid out in the project planning stage.
