Project Brief
A repeat client of ours came to us to discuss the possibility of creating some bespoke understair storage to make use of the dead space currently being wasted beneath his oak staircase.
With a very clear vision we discussed his ideas which involved creating a pull out wine cabinet built into the angle of the staircase, as well as this he wanted to create a matching cupboard beneath the stair landing for tidy storage of hoovers and miscellaneous items.

Project Execution
Project Run-Through:
The project began with a detailed design consultation, after which we developed a more refined brief and initial cabinetry layout using SketchUp.
Collaborating with our in-house designer, we created a scaled, detailed model for client approval. Throughout the design stage, we worked closely with our client, an avid wine collector, going through multiple revisions to ensure the cabinetry was tailored perfectly to his specific bottle collection.
To guarantee a precise fit, we visited his home and personally measured a variety of bottles, designing the storage to accommodate everything from standard reds to larger champagne bottles. Once the design was approved, we moved to production.
The unit’s complexity required precision; all cabinetry was constructed in our workshop using Festool Domino joinery, glued and clamped for a flawless, fixings-free finish that maintained the luxury aesthetic. Pre-building in the workshop allowed for greater control and quality, ensuring the unit arrived ready for seamless installation.

Bringing the Vision to Life
This was definitely one of our most complex designs to bring to life, the nature of it being an angled unit, as well as the sheer weight of carrying so many bottles of wine on long drawer slides was a very daunting task, but with a fantastic plan and design in place we achieved a fantastic finish that our client was so impressed with he had started to fill it up before we had even left the house.
