Project Brief

This kitchen formed part of a much larger project for a returning customer, which also included external Cedral cladding and a full bathroom renovation. Having already completed work for the client previously, we were delighted to be invited back, with the kitchen being the first major interior project we made a start on.

Having a keen interest in traditional and extravagant woodwork and cabinetry, the brief was a perfect match for me. The aim was to create a high-spec in-frame shaker kitchen in the style of Humphrey Munson, incorporating as many bespoke features, custom details and intricate finishes as possible.

The goal was to create a truly one-of-a-kind kitchen that would stand out and be difficult to replicate. I was also given the freedom to bring several of my own ideas into the design, including a custom mantel feature to house the hob extractor and bespoke post detailing for the island.

Project Execution

Project Run-Through:

This kitchen project began with all cabinetry and accessories being spray-painted in Little Greene – Hicks Blue with a durable 2-part PU paint. Once cured, installation commenced.

A custom mantelpiece was built and installed on-site, featuring Art Déco coving and a two-tier cornice to create a detailed focal point. After the main carpentry, templating for the worktops was completed, followed by off-site manufacturing and subsequent installation. Plumbing and electrical connections for the Samsung appliances were then finalised.

A striking Lusso Stone flex tap in brushed gold was fitted to the double butler sink, drawing significant praise. The project concluded with on-site spray painting of the custom mantel and island woodwork. The island’s skirting was designed to complement the home’s existing boards, and the mantel received a distinctive two-tone finish in Little Greene – Silent White Pale and Little Greene – Rolling Fog.

Project Completion

Bringing the Vision to Life

The finished project could not have turned out better. The quality of the materials used was matched by the attention to detail our team applied during installation.

My favourite part of this project is its uniqueness; there is no other kitchen in the world like this one. It has been styled and created specifically for this home to meet the project brief and complement the rest of the property.
